

She moved to Taipei, Taiwan in September of 1949 with her parents and family. There she attended Ming Chaun College and earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in International Trade. After college, she worked as an accountant at a stock company in Taipei. She met her future husband of 57 years Chin Tza while in Taipei, and they were married in January 1964. They had one son Dennis who they loved and cherished. The family moved from Taiwan to Ames, Iowa in 1969 for Shu’s husband to pursue a Ph.D. in engineering at Iowa State University. After brief periods living in Buffalo, New York and La Habra, California, the family moved to Houston, Texas in 1979. They would remain in the Houston area and eventually call Houston home. Shu was employed in the accounting department at Ames Industries while living in California and Montgomery Ward while in Houston. Later on, however, her primary occupation was taking care her loving husband and son.
Shu was an avid gardener and loved to cook her own vegetables for her family. Her most joyous moments where when her family was happy and well. Shu’s selfless, nurturing care and love will not be forgotten and will live on in those who loved her. She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years Chin Tza Tang, son Dennis, daughter-in-law Grace, grandchildren Arthur and Audrey, three brothers, and two sisters.
