Silvia (Betty) was preceded in death by her spouse of 67 years Joseph and her son Thomas. She is survived by her children Laura Johnson and her spouse Don, Neil Valsecchi and his spouse Linda, and Paul Valsecchi. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ryan Johnson and his partner Feather Douglass Nelson and Erin Mitchell and her spouse Taylor.
Betty was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in New Hyde Park on Long Island. After She and Joe married they lived in Bay Shore, Long Island and Westbury, Long Island. Most of her life there was devoted to raising her four children. She was always a calm and steady force in their lives. After moving to Houston, Texas, she worked for insurance company CNA for several years before retiring.
Betty enjoyed reading and shopping but most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a devoted animal lover, having a special place in her heart for cats. The household was never without a pet, whether they were chosen or the pet chose us. All were welcomed.
