Simone Maria Trappe

Simone (Moni) Maria Trappe passed away peacefully at Houston Hospice in Houston, Texas December 21, 2015. Moni was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 1, 1940. Her family later moved to Houston, Texas where she completed Bethany Lutheran, Hogg Junior high and Jefferson Davis High School where she was a Carlton Cadet Majorette.

Moni’s unconditional and devoted love was her family; she also had a zest for life that included her friends, cruising, camping, and an avid desire to volunteer ranging from President of the P.T.A., Clogging Club Telephone Committee and Exhibition Coordinator. Moni had a passion for dancing. She enjoyed square dancing, clogging, waltz, and polka dancing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, originally from Berlin, Germany, Richard Pepe Simon and Elise Erna Winter Simon. Moni is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Allen Trappe, children Dianna, Deborah, Mark and their spouses, step children Nancy, Vanessa, and Melissa and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at American Heritage Funeral Home, Sunday, January 3, 2016 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. Funeral services will take place Monday, January 4, 2016 at 12:00pm with interment to follow at Houston National Cemetery. Directions to a potluck reception will be provided at the visitation and conclusion of the service. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in the name of Simone Trappe.
