Stella moved to Hong Kong in early 1940s where she met and married her sweetheart, Paul in 1949. During their lives spent together, they lived in Hong Kong and immigrated to Houston, Texas in 1976.
Shortly after her marriage to Paul, Stella attended Northcote College of Education, a reputable training school for teachers and became a certified teacher. Stella was blessed with many talents and interests. She was as much a strong swimmer as she was an angel singing and a creative artist.
Stella had a full and varied career, which included interesting jobs such as being an art teacher in Hong Kong and an administrative staff for the City of Houston. Her greatest pleasure came from teaching art. She encouraged her students to participate in international art competitions, in which some of them won awards. During her tenure at the City of Houston, Stella made many friends with whom she joyfully shared her delicious cooking and baking.
While living in Houston, Stella was member of Houston Chinese Church. Stella loved to sing and was a member of the church Choir. She did not limit her gift in singing to only one church but also at her son Michael’s church when she visited his family in Los Angeles.
Stella is survived by her loving husband Paul; eldest son Michael and his wife, Jeannie; second eldest son Steve and his wife Angela; and youngest daughter Jean. Granddaughters Amy and her husband, Mun-Wah; Emily and her husband, Amos; Stephanie and her husband Earvin. Great-grandsons Andrew and Christopher.
Stella will be missed dearly and will always be remembered by those who knew her and touched by her grace, kindness and love.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 2, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Fort Bend Community Church, 7707 Highway 6, Missouri City, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that gifts be made to Fort Bend Community Church’s Mission Fund.
