Stella Wade, 90 years loved, was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband, the late Billy Wade NASCAR legend killed at Daytona in 1965, her parents William A. and Bertha Mae Barton and brother William Earl Barton. Left to cherish her memories are daughters: Vickie Du Plant (Rick), Sheryl Bass (Randy), Melinda Wade and Rhonda Richards; grandsons: Eric Du Plant, Leon Bacica, Jason Du Plant (Patsy), Aaron Bacica, and Billy Wade Richards; great-grands: Andrew Bacica, Sydney Du Plant, and Joshua Du Plant; nephews William "Butch/Bill" Barton (Billie), David Barton; niece Cynthia Barton; cousins: Judy Martin, James and Jerry (Elaine) Ramo.
Mrs. Wade worked in the purchasing department at Rex Supply Corporation (Machine Tool & Industrial) for forty years and retired. She also worked at Sugar Creek Baptist Church with the babies for 10 plus years. She loved children. Stella loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to all of her children, and loved being involved in their activities both in and away from school. She loved working and harvesting fresh vegetable gardens, planting flowers, horses, dogs, and eating deep East Texas peaches. She was a graduate of Jeff Davis High School, an athlete, a Racer's wife, who stood by her husband's side in what he chose and loved to do, racing. She was a beautiful Fred Astaire dancer, winning her own Gold and Gold Star Nationally, and the "Best" Country Girl/Mother any girl could have ever ask for. She was Mom to many of her children's friends, touching many lives along her journey. She will be very sadly missed by all who knew her. Stella Wade is now resting peacefully, with her husband, in the arms of OUR LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.
