Stephanie Roxanne Adkins, of Houston, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, July 13, 2024. Proud to be a Native Texan, Stephanie was born in Houston at Hermann Hospital to Charlotte Goings Adkins and Richard V. Adkins on April 14, 1960. She was raised in Houston and Kerrville, then back again to Houston where she graduated from Marian Catholic High School in 1978. Stephanie spent the next several decades in Houston with a career in Commercial Real Estate both with Retail Property Development, Sales and Leasing as well as a Mortgage Broker for Income Producing Properties. She worked in various roles with Houston Real Estate Firms and Lenders including Schulgen Properties, Prosperity Bank, Marcus & Millichap and with her father at Adkins, Dannatt & Co. Additionally, Stephanie furthered her education by completing requirements to become a Paralegal Specialist, assisting attorneys with preparation of legal documents.
Stephanie was an avid Scuba Diver, having dived at numerous sites in the Caribbean and the Pacific, including Hawaii, where on one dive she was instrumental in helping recoup dazed divers that were swept away in dangerously heavy underwater crosscurrents. She was musically inclined, playing Classical Piano for years as well as singing in several Choirs with her melodic voice. She was also a lover of animals, and often would take in strays to her home, giving them nourishment and taking them in for vaccines. She traveled frequently all over Texas, especially the Hill Country, and to exotic places including Costa Rica, Mexico and Guatemala.
Stephanie was a devout Catholic Christian with strong Faith and Love for God and Jesus. She kept her Bible on the table next to her bed and most every night would read it and then pray. Stephanie was a very generous person, both with her time and her heart, and reached out to help family and friends often. She looked up to and revered her parents, especially her father. She had a heart of gold, was instinctively nurturing, and was blessed with physical beauty, especially her striking emerald-green eyes. She will be sorely missed and may God rest her Soul.
Stephanie is preceded in death by her parents, Charlotte and Richard, her sister Jennifer Adkins and brother Cade Adkins. She is survived by her brothers Mark and Richard, with nieces Alexandra, Virginia, Ava and Lily, and nephew Colin Adkins.
