Stephen Tracy Malonson

Stephen Tracy Malonson, 49, of Houston, TX passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022 in Houston, TX. He was born on September 21, 1973 to Minor Paul and Maggie Malonson at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston, TX. Stephen graduated from Jersey Village High School in 1992 where he was a dynamic leader and an All-District defensive tackle for the District Champion football team. He went on to play football at Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, OH, Navarro College in Corsicana, TX and earned a full-athletic scholarship to play at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM.

In January of 1996, at the age of 22, Stephen suffered a major stroke that ended his athletic career. After an extensive period of rehabilitation, he moved back to Houston and worked alongside his dad in automotive sales. Despite his many physical challenges, eventually rendering him a quadriplegic, Stephen maintained a positive outlook on life; providing inspiration and support to his family and his friends.

He is survived by his parents, Minor Paul and Maggie Malonson, his brothers, Eric Malonson, Marcus (Heather) Malonson and Jeff (Carolina) Malonson and his half-sister, Cassandra White as well as his daughter, Samantha Lovato and his girlfriend, Lolita Lovato. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews, Matthew Malonson, Morgan Malonson, Carter Malonson, Mallory Malonson, Ava Malonson, Meredith Malonson, Olivia Malonson, Sofia Malonson, Ariel (Herve) Plick, Cara White, great nephew, Xavier White and great niece, Jamele-Ray Plick. He is also survived by his great Uncle Horace and great Aunt Georgia Malonson in addition to many other uncles, aunts and cousins.

Funeral Services for Stephen will take place from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 Visitation and 11:00 A.M. Mass on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at St. Monica Catholica Church located at 8421 W. Montgomery Rd., Houston, TX 77088. Burial services will be handled by Paradise Funeral Home & Cemetery North – Dignity Memorial located at 10401 W. Montgomery Rd., Houston, TX 77088
