

Steven Douglas Stinemetz, 58, passed away September 15th, 2016 in Houston, Texas. He leaves his wife, Tatiana Azarova Sorkin; his daughter, Emily, and her husband, Brian Berger; his son, Eric; his daughter, Ellen; his step-son Anton Sorkin; and his step-daughter, Lisa Sorkin. Born and raised in Marysville, Ohio, to Glenn and Lona Stinemetz. Brother to Greg Stinemetz and Chuck Stinemetz. Brother-in-law to Debbie Stinemetz and Annie Stinemetz, and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Doug graduated in 1976 from North Union High School, in 1980 from Harvard with a bachelors in Russian History, in 1982 with a Masters in Modern Russian History, and in 1986 from New York University with a J.D. He married Carol Stinemetz in 1980 and had three children. Emily was born in July 1989 in Dallas, Texas. He worked for Haynes and Boone at this time. They had Eric in November 1991 in Fairfax, Virginia. Then, they had Ellen in December of 1993 in Missouri City, Texas. He worked for Western Atlas at this time. In 1994, Doug started the Petro Alliance Services.
Doug started the Stinemetz Law Firm in 2007. He married Tatiana Azarova Sorkin in August of 2013. He was an avid runner who participated in many marathons around the world, to name a few, the Matterhorn Marathon in Switzerland, the Florence Marathon, the Moscow Marathon, the San Francisco Marathon, and of course the Houston Marathon every year since he started running. He was a proud member of Fort Bend Fit.
His joys in life were family, running, his work, collecting fine wines, collecting fine art, and spending time on the ranch. He enjoyed taking his son to the Opera. He was always inspired by the challenges he faced in life. He will always be remembered as a loving father, a hard worker, an intelligent man, and most of all the best person he could be.
