Stuart was a fiercely independent, direct, honest, loyal, loving, kind, generous, intelligent, and, above all, funny. In December, while making an appointment for his first chemo treatment, he was handed a 2017 calendar. He said “Thank you. This is very encouraging. It’s for a whole year!”
He loved fishing, family, woodworking, open-wheel racing, and college football. But most of all he loved and was devoted to Margaret; his wife, soulmate, and “best gal” for 22 years.
In addition to his wife, Margaret Vaughan, he is survived by his daughter Joan Williams, grandson Joshua Williams-Caouette, brother Patrick (Molly), nephews Bill (Teresa) and Sean (Marla) Williams, nieces Megan Williams, Renee Houston, Paula Kasse, Jomae Luciano, the entire Vaughan clan, as well as cousins, friends, Home Depot, and the many fish who have been saved by his passing.
“Fishing is not a life and death matter…it’s more serious than that.”
