

Sue Evelyn Miller, age 95, died on Wednesday, August 16, 2017. She was born on December 15, 1921 in Dallas, Texas to Milton and Alma Holloway. She married a handsome soldier, Jimmie B. Brooks in 1943 and as so many women during that time period, was a widow and single mom within a very short period of time. In 1952 she found love again and married Harold Miller. Harold and Sue lived in Dallas until the 1970”s and then moved to Houston. Her children remember her as one who was totally devoted to her family. Having experienced the depression, tragedies and difficult times, she valued hard work, home, and family. As her children grew older, she expanded her interests to gardening and needlepoint projects. Her special dogs became her focus for love and parenting during this time of her life. Her happiest days were when her children, grandchildren, and relatives gathered around her table. She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, and her brother Noel Holloway.
She is survived by her children Jimmie Sue and her husband James Siptak, David Miller and his wife Lennette, Don Miller and his wife Joanne. Grandchildren are Robin Reynolds and her husband Mike, Michael Siptak, Jacob Miller and his wife Kipyn, Nicholas Miller, and Alyssa Miller. Great grandchildren include Nathan Reynolds, Katelyn Reynolds, Owen Miller, and Brooke Miller. She is also survived by her cherished younger sister Joyce Luster and brother in law James Luster. Visitation will be at 5 PM on Saturday, August 19, 2017 followed by funeral services at 6 PM. Interment will be at 11 AM on Monday, August 21, 2017 at Houston National Cemetery.
