Sybil Chovanec Harbour

Sybil was born in Fayetteville, Texas. She later moved with her family to LaGrange, Texas. She graduated from LaGrange High School in 1958. Upon graduation she moved to Houston, Texas. Her daughter, Linda Kay Harbour Piwetz was born on June 17, 1962. She started her career path in the banking industry in which she worked for many years. Later in her career path, she worked for The Texas Department of Public Safety of which she was very proud and considered her dream job! She retired, April 30, 2011.

Her only grandchild, Travis Michael Piwetz, was born October 31, 1990. Her whole life focused on him. She loved him more than life itself! She enjoyed cooking (trying new recipes), going out to eat, gardening, walking in the park, crossword and find-a-word puzzles. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cleve Harbour; brothers, Louis Chovanec and Clem Chovanec. She is survived by her sister, Rose Gunn; daughter, Linda Kay Piwetz (Mike); grandson, Travis Michael Piwetz and her fur grandbabies, Lucy, Maggie, and Cooper and extended family.

The family wishes to give special thanks to The Heritage at Meyerland for the wonderful care and support over the last couple of months. We will be forever grateful.

As her service will be private if you wish to donate on her behalf to either the Alzheimer's Association or the Houston SPCA.
