Sylvia J Patillo, 79, passed away on October 14, 2026. Born November 15, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri, Sylvia’s life reflected steady purpose, deep conviction, and a sincere regard for others. She resided in Richmond, Texas at the time of her passing.
Sylvia spent her formative years in Omaha, Nebraska, and graduated from Omaha Technical High School. She later earned a Master of Science in Human Resource Management from Park University in Kansas City, an achievement that spoke to her diligence and commitment to learning.
Sylvia was the beloved daughter of John Wesley Jamierson and Lola Mae, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Joe Nathan Roberts; brothers Michael Leon Jamierson and Dale Joe Roberts; sister, Sandra Wilson; and granddaughter J’Tyler Patillo.
For more than 50 years, Sylvia was honored to be known as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Dedicated and baptized, she worshiped Jehovah, the True God, and valued her ministry deeply—including the privilege of serving as a regular pioneer (full-time evangelizer) before her health drastically declined. Her faith and devotion were enduring, and her life bore the quiet strength of long-held beliefs.
Sylvia also found joy in simple, meaningful pleasures—especially traveling and playing cards—moments that brought connection, laughter, and lasting memories with those she loved.
Sylvia leaves to cherish the memories of her life: her daughter, Rochelle Brown-Gladney (Florida); her son, Jason Patillo (Texas); her grandchildren, Timothy Patillo, Jaxon Patillo, and Ji’Anna Patillo; and her great-grandson, Josiah Patillo. Also surviving Sylvia are her siblings: Betty Clark (Sidney), Missouri; Linda Bentley, California; Jan Redmond-Shaw (Roland), Texas; Marva Long, Missouri; Jo Hoye (Ben), Texas; James Roberts, Missouri; Claudette Jalla, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
