

Sylvia Sada born May 21, 1944 Laredo, Texas passed away December 18, 2013 in Houston, Texas at the age of 69 due to complications following surgery with her family at her side. Sylvia attended Ursuline Academy in Laredo until 1956 and moved to Houston in 1957.
Sylvia graduated from Spring Branch High School in 1962, then earned a Bachelor of Arts from the Criminal Justice Institute at Sam Houston State University in December 1972 Magna Cum Laude.
Sylvia’s professional career was that of public service… she worked for Social Security Administration from 1974 to 1990 in Huntsville, Texas and Houston, Texas offices, the U.S. Department of State as the Passport Fraud Program Manager in the Houston Passport Agency from 1990 until her retirement in 1997. Sylvia was also appointed to serve as a panel member of the Harris County Appraisal Review Board in January 2013, volunteered as a puppy foster mom for the Golden Beginning Golden Retriever Rescue group, as well as volunteered as a bilingual interviewer at the Memorial Assistance Ministries Emergency Services.
Sylvia was a devoted daughter, mother, and grandmother. She is predeceased by her father Juan Sada. She is survived by her mother Olga Sada of Houston, son Michael Taylor and his wife Terri of Sugar Land, grandchildren Audrey Taylor and Nathan Taylor of Sugar Land, and daughter Leslie Taylor of Brentwood, California.
A visitation for Sylvia will be Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home from 6-8 P.M. with a reception to visit with her dear mother and family. Services celebrating her life will be Friday, December 27, 2013 at 12:30 P.M. in the chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Concluding services, Sylvia will be laid to rest at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
