

Sylvia Ann Williams was born on August 5, 1924 to the late Dennis and Ella LaFleur in Basile, Louisiana. She attended school in Louisiana. She was united in holy matrimony to Joseph C. Jules in 1943. They soon moved to Galveston, Texas and to this union four children were born. She later married Nathaniel Williams, Jr. and to this union two children were born. They moved to Houston Texas in 1967 where she became a member of St. Monica's Catholic Church where she remained until her health failed. She enjoyed motorcycle riding, fishing & dancing. She worked as a chef where she fulfilled her joy of cooking. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph C. Jules, Nathaniel Williams Jr., her beloved son Joseph C. Jules Jr., sisters Alzina Matthews, Mary Pitre and brothers Marcena, Dallas, Delbert and Henry LaFleur. Cherished memories of Sylvia will live forever in the hearts of daughter Betty Brown (Dwayne), Shirley Ford-Johnson (Joseph) her sons Michael Jules (Cheryl), Nathaniel Williams III (Gail), Daniel Williams Sr. (Benita) and stepsons Herbert Jules and Anthony Foy. She is also survived by her sister Irene Guillory and brother Larry LaFleur. Her grandchildren include: Thomas Brooks (deceased), Janean Brooks, Thomas Ford Jr., Michael, Marlin (deceased), Maurice and Christal Jules, Jocelyn Peeples, Jasmine Williams, Daniel Jr., Joseph and Abigail Williams. She will also be remembered by her great grandchildren Brandon & Tomi Brooks, Braylon Washington, Thomas III & Taylor Ford. In addition, she had one great-great grandson Gabriel Christopher. The family extends gratitude to a special friend of the family and caregiver, Enid Hackett. Mrs. Sylvia A. Williams, 89, passed peacefully on Thursday, January 30, 2014. Services for Mrs. Williams will be held Thursday, February 6, 2014, at St. Monica's Catholic Church 8421 W. Montgomery Rd., Houston, Texas 77088. The visitation will be held from 9:00am - 10:15am, followed by the Rosary. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00am. Mrs. Williams' earthly vessel shall rest in the Paradise North Cemetery.
