Tahereh Hassan

In 1958, she met Mohammad Valinia, a pilot in the Iranian Air Force. They married in 1964 and shared a long life together filled with love, devotion, and family. Together, they built a loving family and raised two children, their daughter, Azita, and their son, Amir.

Tahereh began her career in Tehran as a primary school teacher. She cared deeply for her students and took great pride in helping young children learn and grow. She later became a school administrator, where her patience, wisdom, and natural ability to guide others continued to touch many lives.

In 1985, Tahereh moved to Houston to be reunited with her children, who had moved to the United States a few months earlier. Being close to them meant everything to her.

Her family was the center of her life, and she found her greatest joy in caring for and spending time with those she loved. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and a constant source of strength, encouragement, and comfort. She took great pride in her family and was happiest when everyone was together.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Mohammad; her daughter, Azita, and her husband, Peter; her son, Amir; and her beloved granddaughter, Elizabeth.

Tahereh was a deeply kind, caring, and thoughtful person. She was always ready to help someone in need and never hesitated to offer comfort, encouragement, or a listening ear. Her family and friends often turned to her for advice, knowing that her words would come from a place of wisdom, honesty, and love.

She had a special place in her heart for animals, especially those who had no one else to care for them. Stray cats often found their way to her doorstep, where they were always met with food and kindness. She would either welcome them into her own home or make sure they found safe and loving families.

Tahereh loved a home filled with laughter, conversation, and the people she cherished. She took great joy in bringing family and friends together and was happiest when her home was full. She was an extraordinary chef, and every meal she prepared was made with care. Her food was not only delicious but beautifully presented, and her gatherings made everyone feel welcomed, loved, and at home.

She often reminded her family that life is short and encouraged them to enjoy every moment, live in the present, and remain grateful for life’s many blessings. These were not simply words to her, but values she lived by and passed on to those she loved.

Tahereh was deeply guided by her faith. It gave her strength throughout her life and allowed her to be a source of comfort, reassurance, and support to those around her.

She will be remembered for her generous heart, her gentle wisdom, her strength, her warmth, and the love she gave so freely. Her presence made life brighter for the people who knew her, and the lessons, memories, and love she shared will remain with her family always.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Tahereh’s life on July 26, 2026, at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079.

Visitation will begin at 10.30am, memorial service at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow. Reception at 1pm.
