Taiwo Adewale Edalere, husband, father, servant of God, and a friend to many passed on to glory on the 1st of August 2021. He was surrounded by his wife, his son, his uncle, and family friends as he transitioned to glory.
Taiwo was born to Folami Oladejo Edalere and Joana Ajoke Edalere on March 12, 1955, in Otta, Ogun State, former western region of Nigeria. He completed primary and secondary school education and started college in Nigeria before migrating to the United States where he attended Texas Southern University in Houston Texas.
Taiwo achieved his educational degrees in Mechanical Engineering as well as Art. He achieved success in his career as a mechanic over many years, culminating in him aiding in mechanical services in Afghanistan and Iraq. He also managed the “Edalere Private Primary School” founded by his father in Lagos, Nigeria.
Taiwo met his wife, Bunmi Edalere (nee Olutunbi) in 1979 at an Interhouse Sports competition, where she ran track. Three years later in 1982, Taiwo proposed to the love of his life in the United States. Their union has been blessed with four wonderful children; Funso, Folabi, Folake, and Feyisayo; loving in-laws Ayodola Edalere (Folabi’s wife) and Damilola Orehin (Folake’s husband) as well as two delightful grandchildren; Zion and Josiah – the children of Folabi and Ayodola Edalere.
Taiwo lived a life of devotion to his family and the service of God. The memories of Taiwo and his radiant and ever contagious spirit will continue to live on through our memories.
Taiwo Adewale Edalere’s soul has found peace at last. May his soul continue to rest in the bosom of the Almighty God in Jesus name, Amen.
