Teofilo Villarreal Pena, 82, passed away on June 19, 2026. He was born on January 15, 1944, and was a resident of Pasadena, Texas.
Teofilo grew up in Cerralvo, Mexico, surrounded by plenty of siblings and guided by his parents, Salome and Marieta. From the beginning, his bright mind and inventive hands seemed to come standard—especially the day he repaired his mother’s broken sewing machine at just six years old. It was an early preview of a lifelong pattern: if something was broken, Teofilo would figure it out, and if someone needed help, he would be there—often before you even finished explaining the problem.
He met the love of his life, Ninfa, at a movie theatre in Rio Bravo, proving that sometimes the best stories really do start with a ticket and a little timing. They shared 50 years of marriage before Ninfa’s passing in 2021, building a life rooted in devotion, honesty, and deep family love. Teofilo’s family was everything to him, and he especially treasured being a grandpa—happiest when he was simply spending time with his grandkids, enjoying the laughter and the closeness that made ordinary days feel like celebrations.
A joyful spirit showed up in the way Teofilo spent his time: a good game of dominoes or Chinese checkers, a bike ride, and music—especially the voice of Jorge Negrete—were among his favorite pleasures. He also loved horses, drawn to their strength and grace in a way that suited his own steady nature.
Teofilo’s faith anchored him. He loved the Lord, and his punctuality was legendary—church services were not something you “might” make; they were something you did not miss. He would lend money to anyone in need, and—true to his sharp memory—he would also remember exactly what you owed him, which somehow managed to be both helpful and hilarious, depending on whether you were the one paying it back. Above all, he will be remembered as a creative, intelligent problem solver—someone who could fix nearly anything, and who spent his life doing his best to make things work: machines, plans, and the people he loved.
Funeral services will be held at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services, 7010 Chetwood, Houston, TX 77081, on June 30, 2026, at 10:00 am. A graveside service will be held at South Park Cemetery, 1310 N Main St, Pearland, TX 77581, on June 30, 2026, at 3:00 pm.
