She was born in Victoria, Texas on March 13, 1947. Teresa graduated from Victoria High school on May 27, 1965. She was married to Edward Tejeda Jr. on May 30, 1965.
Teresa had a career in hospitality for Gal-Tex Hotel Corporation. She was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, and had a passion for sewing and gardening.
She was survived by her husband of 54 years Edward Tejeda Jr., her children Susan Hemphill and husband Alex, and Edward Tejeda III, her grandchild James Hemphill, father Julian Medellin Sr., siblings Domascio Lopez, Maria Ybabez, Julian Medellin Jr., Esperanza Martinez.
A visitation will be held in Teresa's honor on Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. inside the Chapel of American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038. A Rosary will begin at 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The funeral service will commence at 12:00 p.m., after which she will be escorted to the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038, where she will be laid to rest. Following the committal ceremony, Teresa's family would like to invite his friends and loved ones to a reception held in the Magnolia Room of American Heritage from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., to gather in fellowship and continue sharing stories of the many lives she touched.
