

Terrell comes from a long line of Texans as a fifth generation Texan and was a member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas. As a young man he joined the Marine Corp and was stationed in California at Camp Pendleton.
He had a successful fifty-year career as an insurance broker and investment adviser. He married Joanne Moore Sanders “Joanie” on the 12th of June 1977, and they celebrated forty-nine years together.
Terrell was a Junior Chamber of Commerce Senator serving a lifetime membership for outstanding service and various volunteer projects. Terrell enjoyed over fifty years with the Houston Grand Opera as a subscriber and supporter. Due to his many and varied friends, he enjoyed the game of poker with the “Sanders Poker Club” and the game of Balut with his Danish friends.
Terrell spent many enjoyable years as a member of the Houstonian Club and the Petroleum Club. He and Joanie traveled extensively through America and the world. Terrell was known for his impressive wine collection and his extensive knowledge of wine, especially Bordeaux.
Terrell and Joanie hosted many dinner parties that featured his wine selections that complimented Joanie’s impressive meals. He was a compassionate, kind and giving man with a great circle of friends. He loved his family and the Lord.
Terrell was preceded in death by his father, T.F. Sanders and his mother, Laurie Sanders.
He is survived by his wife, Joanie; his daughter, Leslie; his granddaughter, Kyle; and his great-grandchildren, Emerson, and James.
The Mass of Christian Burial is to be offered at half-past ten o’clock in the morning on Monday, the 2nd of March, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail in Houston.
Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the nearby St. Jude Hall.
The Rite of Committal will follow the reception, via an escorted cortege at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston at two o’clock in the afternoon.
