"Aunt Thelma" was my next door neighbor on W. 30th Street when I was growing up in Houston. She and "Uncle James Lee" were an important and affirming part of my life and she was great friends with my mother, Evelyn Miller. I have fond memories of Thelma and am blessed to have known her. Aunt Thelma was very special to a lot of us. She was always very good to my dad her brother Emery. Like Pastor White said she and Uncle James Lee never met a stranger and you always felt very welcome in their home.
Love her and Uncle James Lee I will miss her very much.

My prayers are with the family at this time. Ms. Cruse was such a delight to talk with. She was always so kind and had a sweet smile that lit up a room. My husband and I always enjoyed speaking with her & Mr. Cruse at church. She was a very "special" lady and will be missed a lot. With much love and sympathy, Christine Weyand
