She met her husband, Richard E. Leigh, Jr., M.D., at the naval air station on Maui during World War II. Mrs. Leigh, at that time, was the administrative assistant to the Base Commander. She traveled to the mainland in 1946, where she married Dr. Leigh at St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Houston. They were happily married for 67 years until her husband’s death in 2013.
She is preceded in death by her husband Richard, their son Barry Leigh, and their grandson Rob Leigh. She is survived by daughter Aileen Devine, son-in-law Andy Devine, daughter Terry Leigh, daughter-in-law Vicki Leigh, grandchildren Leigh Devine, Neely Devine, and Ashley Guillory, great-granddaughter Emily Bell, and great great-grandchildren, Grant Bell, Penny Bell and Piper Bell.
