Ted Trigg (81) lost his brief battle with congestive heart failure and prostate cancer on August 9th, 2022. Ted was born in Houston, Texas in 1941, and had a very long and very full life!! As everyone who ever met him said, "He was larger than life and he was always a true gentleman!" He was married for 57 years to his lifetime love, Shirley and had 3 children, Monica, Teddy, and Jason.
He graduated from Reagan High School in 1959, where he lettered in football. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Houston, where he was a member of the Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity. He received a Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law and passed the bar to become an attorney in 1968. During his college years, he worked for the US Postal Service as a mail carrier and then moved to work as a clerk in the Harris County Districts Courts until graduation.
He was a Life Member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo where he served on the Souvenir Program and Communications/Editorial Committees for 43 years. He became a Lifetime Committeeman in 2000. The Rodeo was a true passion of his for most of his life and where he was a member of the HLSR Ziffel/Scoundrels BBQ team for 44 years as well.
He was a member of the following organizations: Boy Scouts of America Troop 30, The State Bar of Texas, Houston Bar Association, Texas State Bar College (standing member), Harris County Criminal Lawyer's Association (Charter member), and the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyer's Association. He was licensed to practice law in the Supreme Court of the United States.
On top of all his career highlights, he was a husband and a dad! He was ever present in all of the family, kid and grandkid activities - fishing, hunting, baseball, swimming, vacations, snow skiing, scuba diving, Boy Scouts, and gymnastics that took the family all over the country. He loved photography and because of this, we have decades of pictures that will be cherished forever. He loved dancing with his wife and they never missed a minute to cut a rug when music was playing (no matter where it was). Lastly, one of his all time passions on Earth was reading. So many times when guests came to the house, he was sitting in his "spot" with his face in a book, document, folder, email, etc. reading.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Shirley; Children: Monica and husband Randy Jenkins of Hockley, TX, Teddy Trigg, Jr of Houston, TX; Brother: George Trigg and his wife Sharon of Houston, TX; Grandchildren: Matthew and Angela Jenkins; Felicia Frnka; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his son, Jason Christopher Trigg; his parents: George Waldemar Trigg, Sr and Frankie Trigg; and sister, Norma Yiengst.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association in Ted Trigg's name would be appreciated.
