He was born in Paris, Texas on September 4, 1946. Thomas graduated from high school and served his country in the United States Navy and Marine Corps.
Thomas had a passion for fishing and food, loved to golf, listen to classical and country music, as well as barbeque.
He is survived by his loving wife Maria Barker of forty one years; his daughters Nora Swyden and husband Doug, Virginia Liles, and Janelle Gritz; Son Ricky Nava and his wife Elizabeth; Seven grandchildren: Cody, Courtney, Jessica, Michael, Ryan, Kathryn, and Megyn; Great Grandchildren: Mitchell and Clark; Sisters: Kay, Jan, Denise, and brother Richard.
Thomas’ Funeral Service will be held Friday April 29, 2016 at 10:15 a.m. at American Heritage Funeral Home followed by the Graveside Service at the Houston National Cemetery.
