Tom was born in Poughkeepsie, New York on March 9th, 1950 to Thomas A. Cardinale and Victoria (Phillips) Cardinale. He attended Our Lady of Lourdes High School and then went on to receive his bachelor’s degree at Marist College and his masters degree at Hofstra University. Tom served in the United States Army as an air traffic controller and had many adventures. He then went on to serve his community as an educator for Houston ISD for over 30 years.
Tom married Donna (Knox) Cardinale on June 16, 2004. The foundation of their love was over 20 years of joy, kindness and laughter that will echo in each other’s hearts forever. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with wonderful memories- legendary parties, beautiful vacations, and too many jokes to count.
Tom was wildly competitive and won many awards during his life, but always claimed that his greatest honor was being the father to his son, Ross. His unyielding love and adoration for his son was made known to everyone. The bond between Tom and Ross is unbreakable.
Tom is survived by his wife, Donna (Knox) Cardinale; son, Ross Cardinale (Gracilyn); stepchildren Brigett Hill (Joshua), Anne Geswender (Eric), and Peter McAleer; Sisters, Karen Van Norstrand (Jerry), and Lisa Cardinale; Father, Thomas A. Cardinale; Grandson, Cedric Geswender; and his 3 cats, Newman, Tiger Bunny, and Oliver.
Greeting him in heaven were many, including Tom’s mother, Victoria (Phillips) Cardinale.
Tom’s celebration of life will be held at Grace UCC Church (8515 Brookwulf Dr, Houston, TX 77072) on May 11th at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the Cardinale family asks that donations be made to The Wounded Warrior Project (https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org). They also wish to extend a special thank you to Dr. Corn (MD Anderson), Trinity Hospice, Grace UCC Church, and the many friends and family who have supported them.
Friday at 2 PM at Grace UCC Church
