Thomas E. Dykes born August 20, 1933, went to be with his Lord & Savior on September 16, 2011. He is preceded in death by parents, William & Vera Dykes; siblings: Dick Dykes, Bobby Dykes, Mary Dooley; sons, William Dykes & Clifton Hiltz. Thomas leaves to cherish his memories: loving wife, Frances Dykes; children: Joe Hammons & wife Gloria of Houston, TX, Andy Hammons of Mt. Vernon, IL, Danny Dykes & wife Debbie of Houston, TX, Phyllis Moran & friend Gentry of Kiln, MS, Wesley Dykes & wife Candy of Conroe, TX, Gregory Newsom of Dallas, TX; stepchildren: Leann Windmiller & husband Tim of Conroe, TX, Marsha Martin & husband Tommy of Willis, TX, Ron McLeroy & Rodney Myers of Houston, TX; sisters: Faye Purcell of Brownwood, TX, Betty Duncan of Dallas, TX; numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren; along with special friends, Johnny & Jessie of Conroe, TX. The family will receive friends from 5-8PM on Monday, September 19, 2011. Funeral Services will be held at 3PM on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 with Bro. Gene Kendrick of Mims Baptist Church of Conroe, officiating. Both services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home. Please come in casual attire, this was Thomas’s wishes and request. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society or your charity of choice.
