Thomas was born in Saigon, Vietnam, to Ha Nguyen and Tin Le Ngo on March 6, 1958. He immigrated to the United States in 1985, building a new life and making Houston his home. A hardworking and dedicated father, Thomas made immense sacrifices and worked tirelessly throughout his life to ensure his family was always supported and cared for.
A devout and rigorous Buddhist, Thomas spent much of his life studying Buddhist teachings, often immersed in reading several books to deepen his faith, mind, and spiritual practice. He lived with warmth, mindfulness, and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. He was an avid coffee lover whose home was never without Lee’s Coffee in the fridge or a fresh can of Café Du Monde grounds on hand. He enjoyed exploring new restaurants and buffets throughout Houston, though he always held a special place in his heart for Taco Bell. A passionate music lover, he grew up playing the drums in his younger years—a rhythm and love for music he passed down to his son Timothy—and could often be found listening to his favorite songs by The Bee Gees. Thomas was also an avid tennis player who took immense pride in teaching all three of his children how to play as they grew up.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Ha Nguyen and Tin Le Ngo.
Thomas is survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Tiffany Le Ngo; his daughter, Tracy Le Ngo; his sons, Timothy Le Ngo, and Tommy Le Ngo and his wife, Amy Shoga.
The family of Thomas Duc Ngo wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the dear friends and family who showed up during his final moments and supported our family with love and comfort during this difficult time.
