

Tom earned a bachelor’s degree in Eastern European History and a master’s degree in Russian History from Northeastern Illinois University, where he was also a proud member of the Alpha Xi Epsilon fraternity. Tom dedicated his career to the insurance industry, serving business owner's needs with compassion and integrity.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Ruth (nee Haney), daughters Jennifer Wallace (Cameron), Kimberly Schwab, Stephanie Capetillo (Sal), Amanda Henderson (Justin) and son Brian. Tom was a devoted grandfather, known as "Pops", to Mallory, Garrett, Jackson, Blair, Summer and Hudson. He is also survived by his sister Judy Byrnes (John) and many nieces and nephews.
Tom was known for his gregarious nature and his engaging personality. He was an enthusiastic follower of professional baseball, especially the Houston Astros and the Chicago White Sox. A passionate collector and trader of sports memorabilia, he also had a lifelong fondness for 1950s doo-wop music. Tom cherished time spent with his many friends and family, sharing his humor, warmth, and knack for storytelling with those around him.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, Visitation from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, Memorial Service from 11:00-12:00 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy., Houston TX
