

Laverne graduated from Hartville High School. He met Joan Headley in New Caney, Texas and married on April 17, 1981. Laverne had a career in operating machinery at Hydril for 26 years. He proudly served his country, always saying he would do it over again. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War and had a passion for reading, watching westerns, fishing, and family. He also had love for God, his country, and his family.
Laverne was a very loving man who kept his faith through it all. His family was his world he would tell anyone how many grandchildren he had. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Milfred and Helen Headley; sister, Jean Ivey.
Laverne is survived by his loving wife, Joan Headley; children, Johnny Headley (Donna), Michelle Gassiott (James), Jennifer Madewell (Carl), and Charles Boatman (Sarita); grandchildren, Ciara Diaz, Shane Headley, Katee Anderson, Johnny Wadell, Kara Mishra, Tiffany Moore, Jaimie Reamer, Stephanie Kennedy, Amber Madewell, Lee Madewell, Bryan Madewell, Ashley Molamphy, Jimmy Meyers, and Kevin Meyers; 21 great grandchildren; brothers, Newton Headley (Connie), Harvey Headley, and Billy Headley (Julie); sisters, LaVada Headley, and Jaquie Osborne; as well as many loved ones and a host of friends.
