

Timothy David Baker, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, the 23rd of December 2009, at the age of 39. Tim was born on the 6th of January 1970, in Houston, Texas. He attended The Kinkaid School and graduated from Robert E. Lee high school, where he excelled both academically and athletically. Tim attended Yale University, where he was a member of the football team and the SAE fraternity. Always yearning for Texas, Tim transferred to the University of Texas where he graduated with a Plan II honors degree. Following graduation from college, Tim became a technical writer and was working as a consultant at the time of his death. Tim was committed to helping those less fortunate, mentoring in the HISD’s Houston Real Men Read program, volunteering in Children’s Cancer hospital events, feeding the homeless and volunteering for numerous other charitable causes. Tim was a life long member of St Philip Presbyterian Church in Houston. Tim was a passionate fisherman and outdoorsman. An outstanding cook, he generously prepared and shared his fish and game with family and friends. Tim also shared his outdoor experiences on his website www.txduckhunter.com. Tim is survived by his parents, Walter and Beverly Baker, his brothers Bryan and Drew Baker and their wives Claire Baker and Jeannette Baker, his sister Laura Faison, his nephews, Joseph Faison, Davis Baker, John Baker and Walt Baker and his nieces, Elizabeth Faison, Melissa Baker, Kate Faison and Alice Baker. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six until eight o’clock in the evening on Monday, the 28th of December, at Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston. A memorial service is to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 29th of December, at St. Philip Presbyterian Church, 4807 San Felipe in Houston. Prior to the memorial service, the family will have gathered at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston for a private interment service.
