For those who knew my Abuelita, they would say she was the backbone of the family.

She had her ways of keeping the family united. When we were kids we had family gatherings at her house almost every weekend. When we grew older, she would call to let you know she made your favorite food. And she would make enough food to feed several people.

Family was very important to her. No one asked where the holidays were going to be celebrated. We all knew they would be celebrated at our Abuelita's house. She was full of charisma and always full of laughter. She was the center of attention, even though she never asked for it.

My Abuelita lived a humble life and would help anyone in need, without asking for anything in return.

She was loved very much by everyone she knew.

Abuelita, you have left a huge void in my heart, but you also made a huge impact in my life. You have guided me since I was a child and I hope you continue guiding me from Heaven. I will cherish all the memories we had together. I miss you so much, Abuelita.

Love Always,
Your Nieta Lizy
