Mr. Tommie Lee Emerson

Tommie attended Clemons Public School’s while living in Brookshire. At an early age, he confessed his life to Christ. Tommie attended St. Matthews Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Louis Dixon and remained a faithful member after the passing of his Pastor and resignation of Rev. Hall. Under the new direction and leadership of Rev. Robert Blackmon, he remained loyal until his own passing.

Tommie met and married the love of his life Alice Marie Rogers, where they had 6 children. He was a dutiful and committed employee of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home for 32 years.

Tommie took the Lord’s hand and went to the gates of heaven and though its hard without him he leaves fond memories to cherish. He is survived by 7 daughters, Alice Cutliff (Phillip), Lisa Thompson, Leandrea Jones (Lee Nelson Jones) all of Brookshire, TX., Cora B. Johnson (Lavagass) of Sealy, TX., Odessa McAfee (Willie) of Houston, TX., Annie Gray (Julian), and Corine Emerson (Andy) both of Rosenberg, TX. He is also survived by 7 sons, Andy Emerson (Corine), Kenneth Emerson (Lashone), Wilson Emerson (Casey), Charles R. Emerson (Tarsha), Darrel Thompson (Monica), Ollie Thompson, and Tommie Emerson Jr. He also leaves a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends to mourn his death.

Awaiting his arrival in heaven was his wife Alice Emerson, his parents Ben and Cora, siblings, and two daughters Lasonda Powell and Mary Ann Emerson.

A visitation for Tommie will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079. A funeral service will occur Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 2:00 PM. A committal service will occur Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079.

Serving as pallbearers are John Parker , Ollie Ray Parker , Sylvester Parker , Thomas Parker , Vincent Rogers , Roy Rogers Jr. , Phillip Cutliff, Andy Emerson , Charles Emerson , Jamar Emerson , Kenneth Emerson , Wilson Emerson , Julian Gray , Lavagas Johnson , Willie McAfee and Ollie Thompson .
