

On August 28, 1947, Tommy Jean Lewis was born in Normangee, Texas to the parents of Lola Bell Lewis and Eddie B. Smith. At a very young age Tommy moved to Houston with his mother and brother Billie. He called Houston home for the duration of his life.
Tommy Jean Lewis went to Wheatley High School. He had a zest for knowledge and was academically inclined. After High school he went to the Army where he stayed for a short period of time. He worked for Sunbeam bread company and after leaving there, he settled in at Valero Chemical Plant for the duration of his career.
Tommy was a devoted father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend who never met a stranger.
Tommy Jean Lewis was preceded in death by his mother Lola Bell Nowling, daughter Yvonne Grant-Wilkins, brothers Edmond Roy Nowling, James Edwards Nowling, Mitchell Nowling, and Donald Ray Kelley.
Tommy Jean leaves to cherish his memories his father, Eddie B. Smith, sisters Betty Jean Ammons, Joyce Lewis, brothers Billie Lewis, Jimmy Nowling, Cornelius Nowling, children, Lisa Thomas, Lakeisha Grant, Mary Lewis, Tommy Lewis Jr., Adorable Lewis, and Marcel Lewis Sr. Grandchildren, Franchelle Thomas, Raynisha Smith, Benard Lewis, Brandon Lewis, Beoshonay Grant, Corey Hinton, Chloe Richardson, and Marcel Lewis Jr., great-grandchildren, Zakeyah Thomas, Jarrod Winslow III, Journee Winslow, Collin Lewis, Joshua Trahan, Isaiah Thomas, and Auri Smith. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
