Toni Lynn Callaway Pulkrabek joined her excited greeting party in Heaven of family and friends with her Savior on the night of October 2, 2026. After an extremely short battle with ALS, she was brought back into the arms of God and her husband, David Emil Pulkrabek.
Born to Shelby and Mary Jane Callaway on February 20, 1947, she eventually relocated to Houston, Texas. After graduating Westbury High School in 1965, and 4 days of Sam Houston State University, she began office work where she met her forever-love, David. After marrying in 1967, she adopted her beloved daughter, Shelley Marie Pulkrabek Rowe. Soon after, her son David Scott Pulkrabek joined the family and her family was complete.
With family at the core of everything she did, she raised her children as her full-time career, and ensured they never doubted her devotion. She also had a multitude of close, life-long friendships from the other parents on Mullins. They were collectively all of the children’s parents and friends of hers until her final day. The one constant comment from her friends and loved ones was about her infectious laugh.
As a mother, she was always on task, on time, cleaning and tidy. The pride she took in every hair in place, every speck of dust cleaned and every towel folded remained important until the very end. One of the first questions after learning of her diagnosis of ALS and that she was moving to an assisted living facility was “Can we get my nail-guy to come do my nails”. She might have been in the fight of her life, but she wanted to look good doing it.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Emil Pulkrabek, father Shelby Arnold and mother Mary Jane Magdalena Callaway.
Toni is survived by her son David Scott, daughter Shelley Marie and Son-in-law Alan Rowe and her two grandchildren (which she loved more than anything) Zachary and Justin Rowe, and her dog Toby.
God, Family, Humor and Love. That defined her and continues throughout her legacy.
