Tua R. Smith

Tua R. Smith left this world in the hands of God, on Friday, the 1st of April 2022. She will be terribly missed by her family. She was 97, born on the 28th June 1924 in Athens, Texas; lived in Houston and then their ranch in Kerrville. Since 2006, she was a resident at the Buckingham.

Tua was an active member of River Oaks Baptist Church, a charter member of LORS (Ladies of the Rodeo Society), a member of The Houston Club, lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo and a lifetime member of The A.D. Players.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Tyson Smith II and her two sisters, Annabelle Friddle and Patty Lambright. She is survived by her daughter, Tua Smith Burke (Brian); sons, Tyson Smith III (Rhonda), Nowery J. Smith (Donna) and Pete R. Smith (Barbara); her grandchildren, Nina Bied (Gregory), Natalie Reitman, Karen Soucie, C.T. Smith, Kristen Smith, Jennifer Granack (Frank), Whitney Hartley (Dow) , Nowery John Smith (Sara), Colton Smith , Pete Smith (Katrina), Scout Smith, Steel Smith. And 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
