Tuan was born in 1959 to Mr. Pham Hoa Lu and Mrs. Dao thi Hoan in Saigon, Vietnam. He moved to the United States in 1975 and resided in Shreveport, Louisiana before moving to Houston, Texas in 1976. After Tuan graduated from Milby High School, he went on to study Electrical Engineering at the University of Houston.
Following his love of literature and poetry, he started a small publishing company that printed books, yearbooks, poems and prose. Many were written by himself.
He met Hanh Duong in college and got married in 1986. They have been together for 38 years. They had no children but doted on their numerous nieces and nephews.
Tuan was kind, thoughtful and ever attentive. As he was wont to do, he took it upon himself to reach out to each family member and extended family. He inquired about our daily lives, our challenges and successes. Eager to share the news with everyone, he was the communicator and the bridge between the older members and the younger members of the family.
The young family members adored Tuan, as he always made time to chat and play with them at any occasions.
A romantic soul, Tuan was passionate about literature and history of Vietnam. Our lives have been richer through reading his stories; stories about love and lives; Vietnam and her beautiful places.
Tuan was survived by his wife, Hanh Duong, brothers and sisters Lan N. Pham, Dung Pham, David Pham, Lan T. Pham, Sanh Pham and Linh Pham.
Tuan will be dearly missed by all of us, family and friends.
