On September 18, 2001 in Houston, Texas, a perfect baby boy entered the world born to John Harris and Tanisha Hicks and he was named Tyler Landon Hicks. Tyler loved his family, friends and especially candy. He was affectionately known as “Candy Hound” because he was always on the hunt for something sugary.

At an early age, Tyler was your typical precocious little boy that was full of energy. He was always protective of his family especially his mother and brother. Tyler loved spending the summers with his grandparents in the country and would always talk them into taking him to Wal-Mart to get the latest WWE gear or any toy that caught his eye. Growing up, Tyler loved sports and tried his hand in soccer, baseball and basketball.

Tyler was a 2019 graduate of Atascocita High School in Humble ISD. He was a loyal & trusting friend and was loved by many. It was not until after high school, when he realized his ultimate passion for life – making music. He was on the brink of becoming a successful artist when his life was tragically stolen away. Known by his stage name as Peso, writing his own material was a way for Tyler to express his feelings. With his freestyle raps, rhythmic flow, and the raw & authentic lyrics, his music touched all those that were blessed to hear it. His lyrics truly spoke from the heart. Tyler was at his best when he was in the studio booth, you could definitely see this showcased through his talent and what he wanted to do with his life.

He gained his wings and met his Heavenly Father on Saturday, May 15, 2021. Tyler leaves to cherish his wonderful memory: Mother, Tanisha Hicks; father, John Harris; younger brother, Faroh Nwokeafor; grandparents, Lon & Barbara Williams and John, Sr. & Violet Hicks; uncle and aunt, David, Jr. & Shay Lovett; cousins, Jared, Amyah & Jadyn Benford, David III, Donavin, Aiden & Aaron Lovett. A host of uncles, aunts, other cousins and friends.

I never met you in person but I do remember the day I seen your mother at the grocery store . She was getting baby food. She was telling me that she had been doing well since graduating from KF and that she had just had a baby boy!(You!) She was smiling from ear to ear and I could instantly see that your arrival had already brought her so much joy!!!! Rest easy...

Dear Lord, I pray for Tanisha and family who have lost their son, brother, nephew , grandson, cousin and friend. I ask that you would fill them with a deep sense of your peace and grace. I ask that you would surround them with your love and hope. Give them the strength to carry on and to know that they still have a purpose on this earth. Lord I am asking that each day they would grow stronger in the knowledge of you and how great you truly are.

Lord, on their darkest days be their light. On their loneliest days, be their friend. On their saddest days be their joy. Grant Tanisha and family to be strengthened with power to continue on. I pray that they would be firmly established in the knowledge of you. I pray that they may be able to comprehend what is the breath, width, height and depth of your love for them. Let that unfathomable love carry them through their darkest days.

Lord, I pray that Tanisha and family would be filled with pleasant and joyful memories of Tyler. May each day bring a brighter hope of the future. May they grow closer to you through this experience. Let not their hearts turn bitter, angry or disillusioned. May they once again begin to trust. Bring them the divine comfort and assurance that can only come through your love.”

In Jesus name we pray. Amen..

Thinking of you, Faroh and your entire family during this incredibly difficult time.

While death leaves pain to those of us left behind. Tanisha, I pray your heart, mind, and soul find comfort and solace in knowing Tyler is in a place where he will only know joy, love, and peace. And I humbly ask our Lord to continue to wrap you, Pharoh, and all your family in his loving arms. May you find healing comfort in God’s embrace. Always remember you are loved, and there will be family, friends, and love ones from near and far here to walk this new journey with you.
Love always, Ferleshare
