Valerie Brown, known to family and friends as Val, was born on October 20, 1962 at G.L. Prince Hospital in Crockett Texas. She was the only child of Leroy Brown and Margie Sue Foster raised by Margie and Edward Wilcox. She graduated from Ace Magnum School in Aldine ISD a year and a half early. And shortly after married Charles Ray Smith on March 13, 1981. From that union they had one daughter Tiffany Smith. On November 6, 1994 Valerie had London Ebuka. Shortly after Valerie became a member of the Jehovah’s Witness and led a full life doing things she loved, fishing and decorating are just some. She worked in health management at Houston N.W. Medical Center prior to her ending career in education at Aldine ISD. Valerie was a loyal and trusted family member and friend. Valerie gained her wings on September 18, 2021. She brought joy to every life she touched. She was preceded in death by her fathers Edward Lee Wilcox and Leroy Brown. Valerie is survived by her mother Margie Wilcox; children Tiffany Smith and London Ebuka; grandchildren Marque Taplin Ashera Smith Taeveon Taplin and Cmir Deckard-Smith; sisters Bolonda Dumas (Kurtis), Shunda Prater, Treva Wilcox-Jones (Gregory), Corliss Wilcox-Oneijo (Willie); and brothers Edward Lee Wilcox Jr. (Kimberly), Robert Griffin and Obie Johnson(Linda); and many nieces and nephews and host of relatives and friends.
