Valery and her husband of 40 years moved to Houston, TX in 1979. Valery held positions at Foleys, Houston Home and Garden, Weingarten Realty and most recently a realtor at Greenwood King. She loved history and antiques so she studied to become a Docent at Bayou Bend, a role she dearly loved. Valery loved travel, reading, antiques and cooking. Her most cherished job was being a MOM to her wonderful son Hayden.
She is survived by her husband Von Rogers; most admired son Hayden Rogers, brother Rodney Bacon, his wife Lisa Bacon, numerous other loving relatives and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Erwin “Foots” Bacon, mother, Marguerite Bacon and sister Linda Bacon.
Valery was a proud, beautiful, and poised Southern Woman who had a great sense of humor and always made Family First. Valery lived life to the fullest. She was the most caring and nurturing Mother and person I have known. Because of Valery’s strong values and faith combined with her love of life I know that she would want us to celebrate her life and not be sad. So please honor her wish with my family and truly celebrate her wonderful life with us.
Please join us for a celebration of Valery’s life at the Visitation to be held on Friday June 2, at 9:30 AM followed by Mass at 10:30 AM at St. Cecilia Catholic Church. Grave site services will be held immediately after the mass for family members only at the Memorial Oak Funeral Home (13001 Katy FWY/281-497-2210). For those not attending the grave site service, please join us for a joyous reception for Valery at 10215 Shady River, 77042.
