April 9th, 1940 – October 8th, 2012
Her short life here was spent preparing for eternal life in Heaven. She was a devout Catholic with a deep faith that she passed on to her children. She had a strong devotion to the Sacred Heart of Christ and our Holy Mother in Heaven. She was our loving mother, and a devoted wife, daughter and sister. She loved us through all of our trials and downfalls and taught us to always have faith in God’s mercy.
Verle was born Verle Rose Semas in Oakland, California, spent her married life in Tenafly, New Jersey, until God brought her to Houston, TX after the loss of her marriage, where she lived for the next 3 decades. She left us too soon. Her abrupt departure from our lives was the result of a tragic car accident, but we know she now rests in Heaven and is rejoicing with angels.
She is survived by her three children: Marjorie Ann Hollas, Steven Randall Hill, and Jennilee Holbrook; five of her siblings: Marsha Morthland, James Fleming, Tamara Babineck, Celia Cravey, and Tom Fleming; and 9 grandchildren.
Verle is preceded in death by her parents Isabelle and James Fleming and Anthony Semas, her daughter Mary Ann Hill, and her sister Germaine Wiley.
A vigil service and rosary will be held in honor of her life at Earthmen Hunters Creek Funeral Home, 8303 Katy Freeway Houston, TX 77024 (713-465-8900) at 6 pm, October 23rd, 2012.
