Verna St. Andrie

Verna was born on July 9, 1933 in Colfax, Louisiana, a quaint town a few miles outside of Alexandria, Louisiana. Here she met SJ St. Andrie, and the two fell in love immediately. On July 11, 1950, they wed and spent 53 wonderful years together until his death in 2004.

Verna lived a full life as a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed caring for young children, and as she aged, children always brought a smile to her face. It was always apparent how much she enjoyed viewing the world through their eyes. Verna also loved to paint and travel.

Verna was preceded in death by her parents, loving and devoted husband, SJ, sister, Auburn Hines and brother F. Ross McManus. Verna is survived by her daughters, Glenda Gordy and husband Russell and Karen St. Andrie and partner Greg Bruffy; Sons, Danny St. Andrie and wife Carla and Larry St. Andrie and wife Lisa; Brother, Albay McManus and wife Polly; Grandchildren, Danny St. Andrie, Jr., Shaun Gordy, Kimberly Brown, Garrett Gordy, Samantha Botello, Kristina Fern, and Lindsay Bull; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She is loved fiercely and deeply by her family, her dear friend, Rosemary Hoffart, and her devoted caregivers Irma Ramirez, Glinis Escobar, Brenda Molina, and Rhina Ramirez. We all take comfort in knowing that Verna is now at peace surrounded by the light of God and is reunited with her one true love, SJ.
