

On Monday, September 5th, 2022, Vernon Leo Elmore, a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather passed away in Katy, Texas. Vern was born January 19th, 1944 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Walter Vernon Elmore and Claudia Sides Elmore. Vern graduated from Tulsa University in 1966 with a bachelor's degree in Business and continued at Tulsa University earning his Juris Doctorate in 1968.
Vern served in the US Army from 1968-1973 as a First Lieutenant in Vietnam, where he bravely and patriotically served his country by leading a platoon through numerous missions and offensives. Upon leaving the Army in 1973, Vern focused on his family and career, moving to Houston, Texas as an Oil and Gas Attorney and remaining in the Oil and Gas field for 36 years.
Vern enjoyed traveling, the ocean, hunting, baseball, tennis, and being a loving husband, father of two children, and grandfather to eight grandsons. Vern loved life and stood out as a leader, a motivator, a confidant, a devoted husband, and a loving father and friend.
Vern is survived by his wife of 56 years Linda Elmore, his sisters Sharon James and Kathy Maxey, his son Tim Elmore and wife Angela, his daughter Pam Elmore, and is known as Pa to eight grandsons; Jacob Fowler, Nicholas Fowler, Joshua Fowler, Nathan Fowler, Brayden Elmore, Trenton Elmore, Ethan Elmore, and Gabriel Elmore.
Vern will be missed and will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends.
