Once upon a time, Veronica asked a 17-year old girl would she like to go to Mexico. So, excited after receiving her mom's consent, the duo prepared for the trip and off went the two cousins to another country, Mexico. Monterrey and San Luis Potosi were their destinations. It was the first time in this 17-yr old girl's life that she had been out of Texas and Veronica and I had the best time! Veronica, thank you for your friendship, warmth, and love. I will always, always, cherish the memories. You are a light that shines bright in Heaven. My condolences and prayers go to your family. Love , Your cousin, Connie Barrientos

My dear family, I wish I could come be with you and am so sorry I can't make the trip. I have many memories of Veronica and will locate and post pictures tonight. Veronica is now with my grandparents Ysaias and Fermina Reyna who loved her very much, as well as her other ancestors, friends and loved that have left before us. The following was given to me by a friend when she heard of our loss. I find it very special and appropriate. To my little cousin Veronica, be strong and whisper, she will always be with you. With love, Thomasina

ASCENSION
And if I go,
While you're still here
Know that I live on,
vibrating to a different measure
behind a thin veil you cannot see through.
You will not see me,
so you must have faith.
I wait for the time when we can soar together again,
both aware of each other.
Until then, live your life to the fullest.
And when you need me,
Just whisper my name in your heart,
I WILL BE THERE

From the time I meet Veronica when I was only 16/17 what stood out to me from her was a pure heart that drew you to her. She gave me a warmth to feel so comfortable to talk to her and feel her love through a simple conversation. With a sad heart I ask we all Pray for Veronica in her journey to be in our Father’s glory. I also ask to pray for her husband Refugio and her daughter Veronica to have strength to endure this difficult time because one thing I am certain of is she loved both of them very much! Tillher last days she was still concerned for both of them. I respect her so much for she was a caring, unselfish wife and mom who dedicated her life to them. ✝️♥️🙏🏼

I remember the Thanksgiving she spend with us in our home. Very kind hearted, beautiful person. I still remember her conversing with mom and everyone. Turned out to be a pretty good Thanksgiving.
