Vickie Pennick came into my life in 2012 during my college basketball days at Wichita State.  I reached out to her about a summer internship and she happily approved. I was majoring in Psychology at the time and was looking for an internship. She graciously allowed me to come to her home a couple times a week to help her edit a book she was writing at the time. I also got to see first hand a successful woman operating her own  practice out of her home. During these visits we grew closer. Not to mention that she was a HUGE Wichita State Women’s basketball fan.  What started as an internship soon developed into a mentorship as just a year later I experienced a lot of hardships that I felt I had no one to turn to. Vickie allowed me to come to her home once a week for one hour to discuss all the many things I was going through at the time. Looking back on it now it was one of the most pivotal moments of my life as I was able to deal with the pains and hurt that I experienced and found a new love for myself and for who I desired to be. We kept in touch over the years and she always let me know how proud she was of me and I just hope she truly knew how much I appreciated her. I admired her success, how she carried herself, how she treated her love ones,  and how she loved her husband deeply. Even after so many years spent together and so many hardships, they were still undeniably in love. It was truly an inspiration. Now more than a decade later, I can truly see how impactful the time spent together with her has had in my life. Thank you Vickie Pennick for everything you did for me and my family. Rest in paradise. I send my condolences to all of her family and friends.

I am so heartbroken to hear this. I first met Vickie as a client, and then she became MY client for social media marketing for her business. Then, we became good friends here in Wichita. I was saddened to lose her to Texas, but I knew that without Rex, she needed her family. 
Hearing about her passing was a shock. I knew she was struggling with some health issues, but I didn't realize she was again in the hospital. Rex Jr., thank you so much for being open to having her at your home for future care. Thank you, Donna, for being one that she always spoke about and shared about the grandkids. I met all of you when you were in Wichita for Vickie's and Rex's anniversary party. Vickie loves a great party. I've been to a few of them! 
No more MS to struggle with. I've been praying for Vickie for the years she left Wichita. She will continue in my prayers because I have loved her for ALL the things that she was - for me and MANY others. She was warm and very caring and listened with an open heart. I've missed her and now even more so. 
I will be praying for you all too. 
May God bless and sustain you through the pain of loss and comfort you each day as you rest in the hope of meeting again in Heaven.

We were so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. We know the past few months have been difficult for her due to all of her health issues. We hope you have comfort in knowing she is  pain free and at peace now. One of our favorite memories was when we attended Vickie and Rex’s 50th anniversary celebration in Wichita. They seemed so happy and it was a special event. We enjoyed visiting with them and the rest of the family.
