Victor dedicated his life to his family and country. He served with distinction in World War II on the front lines of the 4th Armored Division of General Patton’s 3rd Army – from France through Germany and into Czechoslovakia. He was awarded the Bronze Star on two occasions with “V” Device for heroism in combat. Following the war, Victor rose to the highest rank in the Non-Commissioned Officer corps: Command Sergeant Major. He served his country in Germany, the Republic of South Korea, and here at home. He ended his military career in the U.S. Army’s Recruiting Command. Victor enjoyed fishing, golfing, flying small aircraft, and traveling. He was a doer; he could do nearly anything; solve any problem. He liked to spend his time with family and friends. He had an abundance of common sense and good humor through which he helped and shared with others. He always stood firm and would give his only shirt to those he cared for. Victor was a warm and caring husband, father and friend.
Victor is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Darlene, who cared for him throughout his Parkinson’s illness and by his loving sons James, Michael, and William. He will be greatly missed by them and by the caring members of his extended family. He is predeceased by his daughter, Judith
