

He was born to Lena Leggio and Angelo Mascari on the 25th of July 1927, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Vincent moved to Houston after serving in World War II, and completing his term of service in the United States Merchant Marines, being honorably discharged in 1945.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Sylvia Marie Palermo.
Vincent was one of the youngest Master Electricians in the city of Houston, earning the early City of Houston License Number of HMEL 13. He then opened Mascari Electric Company, Inc., and remained in business for more than 42 years. Vincent and his loving wife Sylvia worked together side by side.
Volunteering with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for 35 years, Vincent was active on several committees. He was also a member of the Salt Grass Trail Ride Association, and a member of the Magnificent 7 Wagon.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Angela and John J. Montalbano, daughter Michelle Ann Mascari, and son and daughter-in-law, Vincent and Andrea Mascari. He is also survived by his grandchildren, John J. Montalbano, Jr. and his wife Ann Marie, and Vincent J. Montalbano. In addition, Vincent is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Camille and Charles H. Sumner. His nieces and nephews include Charles and Karen Beth Sumner, Cynthia and Jack MacKinnon, Carol and Harry “Skip” Hartley, Cheryl and David Cook, Caren and Michael Neuman, Cathleen and Michael Wheir, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to his caregivers Daisey M. Ashley and Diane Crouch for their kindness.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from three o’clock this afternoon until eight o’clock this evening, Thursday, the 30th of September, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston, where recitation of the holy rosary is to commence at seven o’clock, led by Deacon Louis Provenzano.
A Mass of Christian Burial is to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 1st of October, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Road in Houston.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Vincent F. Mascari, Jr., John J. Montalbano, Sr., John J. Montalbano, Jr., Vincent J. Montalbano, Charles H. Sumner, and David Lee Cook.
The Rite of Committal is to follow, via an escorted cortege, in the Garden of Gethsemane at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
