Virginia loved people and was a mother figure to many in her family and church. Her life was a living example of the Lord; she loved with her favorite verse being Romans 8:28 All things work together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to his purpose.
She loved cruising and recently swam with the dolphins in Cozumel, Mexico. Her family loved her Reeder meatballs, pizza, burgers, and pot roast.
She was a faithful member of Greater Purpose Church of God in Tomball, Texas where she attended regularly and also a member of Highland Church of God in Wichita Falls, Texas where she previously attended. She spent most of her life in Wichita Falls, Texas until moving to Houston, Texas with her daughter, Shellie Durbin in 2012. She graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1946. She married the love of her life, Johnnie Leroy Reeder Jr., on October 19, 1946.
While living in Wichita Falls, Virginia, she started her work career at S&H Kress. She retired from Whites Auto Store as an Administrative Housewares Buyer where she traveled to South Korea, Hong Kong, and Japan. Virginia was a hard worker and took a job in Richardon for Vent-a-Hood Corp as an Inventory Controller and later at Milestone Distribution as an Account Receivable Clerk.
Virginia is survived by her brother, William Rampy; son, John Reeder and wife Debbie; daughter, Shellie Durbin and husband Jim; she was proud of her eight grandchildren, Annette Reeder, Morgan Shaw, Jason Reeder, Jessica Fino, Christopher Reeder, Christina Durbin, Jamie Parry, and Cheyenne Reeder; and eight great-grandchildren, Katelyn Shaw, Auria and Addison Fino, Brooke LaBauve, Gibson and Parker Reeder, River and Jonah Parry; and loving many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Johnnie Reeder Jr.; son Walter Reeder; baby brother Thomas Rampy; brother Walter Rampy; and sister Thelma Wilson.
A visitation will be held Tuesday January 18, 2022 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Brookside Funeral Home at Champions, 3410 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, Texas 77038. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 11:00am at Greater Purpose Worship Center, 612 Malone Street, Tomball, Texas 77375. The Committal Service will take place Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 1:00pm at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Memorial Park, 1917 Archer City Highway, Wichita Falls, Texas 76302.
