Vivian McBride Routt was the eleventh of twelve siblings. She was born November 21, 1960 to David and Lucille McBride. She was a graduate of Aldine High School. She married George Routt on September 7, 1990. One of their most celebrated pleasures was their annual vacations. Vivian was preceded in death by her mother Lucille McBride, mother-in-law Eliza August, siblings Melissa McBride, Joseph McBride, and Sharon McBride Marshall. She leaves to treasure many fond memories, her husband George Routt, her 101-year-old father David McBride Sr., siblings Betty Caldwell, Rachel Davis (Roosevelt), David McBride Jr., Cynthia McBride, Sylvia McBride, Gwendolyn McBride, and Michelle Shepherd (Robert); in-laws Mary Addison, Betty Taylor, Edgar Lee Williams, Horace August, Barbara Thomas, Joyce Davis, Ruthie Spiller (Charles), (preceded in death Curley August and George August). She also had a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly. Vivian will also be remembered as a dedicated Christian, along with her mission to the Women’s Group and assistance to serve Houston’s homeless. Her beautiful smile and endearing spirit will stay with us forever. A Tribute to My Dear Wife Thank you for your endless love that will help me through each day and thank you for the memories that will never fade away. Love George

To Mr. Routt and the McBride family my deepest and sincerest condolences I loved Ms.Vivian and just found out about her passing we worked together at NCI and were close until the contract ended and we lost touch She found out where I was working a couple of months ago and came just to see me we embraced and said that we would keep in touch and that we loved each other I'm thankful for that encounter but saddened that we won't get the opportunity to reconnect She will be deeply missed and forever in my heart as one of my favorite people

Vivian,

I will miss you calling me several time a day
Just to see if I was ok.

You maybe gone, but will never be forgotten.
For now I have to say good by, until we meet again someday.

Your Sister Sylvia

Viv,

I remember us all growing up in the same room and fighting over who was going to sleep closest to the fan because we didn’t have air conditioning yet. Do you remember that?

Do you remember that any time you introduced me to anyone, you always called me your “baby sister.”

And If you called me at home and didn’t answer, you would immediately call my cell phone asking, “where are you?” And when I called you back you just wanted to know what I cooked for dinner, knowing that I’m not a good cook. Remember that?

Your nickname for me was Farrah! I never understood that one....

We may not be able to make new memories together, but you will always be remembered.

I love you to infinity.....and beyond
