W. D. was married to Joyce Hastings on December 16, 1944, and together they spent 74 years of bliss. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II, The Korean War, and the Vietnam War, and finally retired after 23 years of honorable duty. Following his military career, he worked in Law Enforcement with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Department and served as Constable, Precinct 6 in Tarrant County, Texas.
W. D. was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Hastings; son, Terry Hastings; 5 grandchildren, Brandi Jordon, Bryson Hastings, Jayson Hastings, Lindsey Hale and Aaron Hastings.
A committal ceremony will be held at 11:30 a.m. on September 6, 2019 at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, Texas. For those wishing to attend, please arrive at the Houston National Cemetery by 11:15 a.m. and proceed to Lane 1.
