Walter “Wally” Martin, beloved husband, family member, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026, after courageously battling cancer for the past two years. He faced his illness with remarkable strength, grace, and determination, never losing the warmth and humor that defined his life.
Born on October 26, 1968, in Texas City, Texas, Wally grew into a man known for his generosity, loyalty, and unwavering love for the people around him. He built a life grounded in kindness and integrity, touching countless lives through his compassion and steady presence.
Wally spent his career in the uniform industry, where he was respected not only for his expertise but also for the way he treated others—with patience, fairness, and genuine care. His career culminated in his role as General Manager at Alsco, at the Houston Industrial Branch, where he led with dedication, humility, and a deep commitment to his team. Before beginning his professional life, Wally proudly played football and baseball for the Dickinson Gators and later baseball for the Sam Houston Bearkats, experiences that shaped his discipline, teamwork, and lifelong love of sports. Outside of work, he found joy in family, hunting, fishing, and cheering for the Dickinson Gators and Sam Houston Bearkats—pursuits that reflected his curiosity and zest for life.
Above all, Wally cherished his family. He is survived by his spouse, Lori Martin; his nephews Colby Martin, Tyler Martin, and Kohen Martin; his niece Kylar Martin; and his brother Michael Martin. They will forever carry his love and memory in their hearts. His legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the countless moments of quiet strength he offered to those he loved.
The family is deeply grateful for the thoughts, prayers, and support received during this difficult time and kindly asks for privacy as they grieve this profound loss.
Services for Wally will be held at Brookside Funeral Home – Cypress Creek on April 17, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. Following the service, family and friends will gather at Creekwood Grill to share food, fellowship, and memories of an amazing man.
