

Walter Buford “Mac” McLeroy passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday evening, January 4, 2022. Mac was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, to W. B. McLeroy, Sr. and Winona Hawthorne McLeroy on November 4, 1932. He is preceded in death by his parents, younger siblings Kenneth and Nita, and his wife of 58 years, Muriel Smith McLeroy. He is survived by daughter Lynn McLeroy Weatherly and her husband Mark; daughter Leigh McLeroy; granddaughter Katharine Weatherly Hatcher, her husband Jason and daughter Evelyn; granddaughter Victoria Weatherly Means, her husband Sam and son Amos. He was always proudest of his family.
Mac served with honor in the United States Navy including two tours of service, one on the U.S.S. Yorktown during the Korean Conflict, and later in Honolulu, Hawaii, and Beeville, Texas. His entire career was spent in oilfield service with Mac Services, Union Carbide and Big 3 Industries, and as founder and owner of Environmental Compliance Associates (ECA) for 25 years until his retirement.
Following a private burial, a memorial service celebrating Mac’s life will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church of Houston. The family requests no flowers; those desiring to do so may make memorial gifts to AD Players at the George Theater, to the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), or to any charity of their choice.
